Petates are some of Mesoamerican most significant spaces, a natural fiber woven mat that symbolizes life and death, where women gave birth, and people were buried. Its weave is inspired by the texture of snakeskin, a sacred animal for the Mexica’s and a key element of Coaticule’s myth.

Claroscuro rug is a reinterpretation of the traditional petate. A big format experimental rug made of flatwoven wool pieces, pays homage to Coatlicue’s iconic garment, a skirt made of snakes.
