Verónica González Zavala is an architect and founder of vgzarquitectura in Mexico City. 

Recently vgzarquitectrura obtained The Architecture MasterPrize for green architecture, an Archmarathon award, Architizer A+ Awards people’s choice, and Prix Versailles. The firm was selected for Obras’ “10 despachos” for intelligent cities for its contributions to sustainable design. She has been named to AD Iconos of Design for her residential work. 

Zavala studied at Universidad Iberoamericana in México City and earned a master’s degree in Architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology, obtaining the Henry Adams Award.

She worked for Architectonica in Miami, Tsao and Mckown, and Helpern Architects in NYC.

She has been a professor of Design Studio and Site Analysis at Universidad Iberoamericana, is allied with LIGA, and is a member of the College of Architects in México City. She is a founding member of the activist group Construyendo Equidad.
